Live on BBC3: Thurs 17.00: it’s 21/5 (Coral) for Ghana to beat Portugal and both teams to score in World Cup Group G.
Portugal are bottom of the Group G having taken only a point from their two matches but they haven’t quite been eliminated yet, although they need an awful lot of luck to make it through to the next phase.
Paulo Bento’s charges need to comfortably defeat the Ghanaians and hope that Germany easily beat the USA but although they’re Skybet’s 5/4 jollies they have yet to show anything in the tournament that suggests they can hammer the Black Stars.
BetVictor rate James Kwesi Appiah’s men at 11/5 to give themselves a chance of qualifciation by collecting a maximum haul and that’s a decent bet given that the Portuguese are fortunate just to have a solitary point having bagged a last-gasp leveller against the Americans.
Bookies are expecting goals in Brasilia, Sportingbet posting 4/7 against both teams finding the net and Skybet quoting a slightly heftier 8/13 about a tally of three or more goals but it’s Ghana that should manage the most.
Given that Portugal need a hefty swing in goal difference they have no choice but to attack and the Black Stars can catch them on the break. A Ghanaian triumph and both teams to score is the call then at 21/5 with Coral.
