Live on BBC1 Scot & Sky Sports 1: Sat 15.00: St Johnstone are 12/5 (Ladbrokes) to cause a Scottish Cup final upset against Dundee Utd.
Dundee United and St Johnstone face off at Celtic Park in the Scottish Cup final and having finished a couple of places above their opponents it’s the Terrors that are BetVictor’s 13/10 favourites to prevail across the 90 minutes.
United however, have beaten the Perthshire outfit just once in their last eight meetings, the last three of which have ended in a Saints success, so ruling out the underdogs, a 12/5 chance at Ladbrokes might not be that wise.
Tommy Wright’s men have been backed in to 12/5 at bet365 to take the final to extra-time and I wouldn’t be surprised to see one or two of the more form-minded punters backing them at 11/8 in Ladbrokes’s ‘Draw No Bet’ market.
With influential front man Stevie May, who struck twice in the 2-1 semi-final success against Aberdeen, in their ranks Saints are always likely to pose a threat and William Hill chalk the Saints striker up at 11/2 to break the deadlock.
He’s also 9/5 (BetVictor) to notch at any stage and alternatively, bet365 mark a safe-looking 4/5 about both teams finding the net at the home of the champions.
Recommended Bets:
St Johnstone to beat Dundee Utd – 12/5 (Ladbrokes)
Stevie May to score first – 11/2 (William Hill)
