Newly-crowned champions Manchester City are 7/4 favourites with Ladbrokes to retain their Premier League title next season.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men clinched top spot by beating West Ham on the final day of an exhilarating campaign and bookies expect them to repeat the feat in the 2014/15 season.
Liverpool, who had been as short as 1/7 at one point, were pipped into second and are 9/2 at Ladbrokes to go one better next time around while Chelsea are a 9/4 chance via the same firm.
The betting ponits to another close battle, with Manchester United (6/1) and Arsenal’s (9/1) odds meaning five teams in total have single figure prices courtesy of Ladbrokes ahead of next term.
Liverpool who were 33/1 at the start of the season would have been the biggest pre-season underdogs to win the title since Aston Villa in 1980/81.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes told Betrescue: “We’re struggling to remember a title race that has captured punters’ imaginations as much as this and the betting suggests next year will follow suit. Manchester City look worthy favourites to retain the trophy but we expect to see money for as many as five or six sides following this season’s events.”
