Live on ITV: Weds 20.00: Helped by Daniel Sturridge, England can edge their friendly with Denmark by one (5/2, Ladbrokes).
England entertain Denmark in their last friendly clash before Roy Hodgson finalises his squad for this summer’s World Cup finals and with players desperate to impress, the hosts are odds-on favourites at 4/6 with Coral to come out on top at Wembley.
The Danes, bet365’s 5/1 outsiders, failed to make it to Brazil 2014 and so will be using this match to further their preparation for Euro 2016 qualification.
They will also include a few players well know to supporters in England, most notably Liverpool’s Daniel Agger, Christian Eriksen of Tottenham and Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner so they should certainly be respected.
However, Morten Olsen’s troops shouldn’t have enough to trouble an England who, despite a couple of recent friendly defeats, tend to be pretty resilient on their own patch.
Nevertheless, these contests, usually riddled with substitutions tend to be less than fluent and as Hodgson’s charges don’t always seem like the most cohesive unit, it’s hard to envisage an emphatic victory.
Ladbrokes make the hosts 5/2 to shade it by a solitary goal, 888Sport go 11/2 about the Three Lions registering a 1-0 victory and for punters expecting both teams to find the net (23/20, Coral), 888Sport also post 17/2 against a 2-1 triumph.
In attack it’s hardly surprising that in-form Daniel Sturridge heads bet365’s first scorer betting at 5/1 and the same firm quote the Liverpool front man at 7/4 to notch at any time.
Recommended Bets:
Daniel Sturridge to score at any time – 7/4 (bet365)
England to beat Denmark by a one-goal margin – 5/2 (Ladbrokes)
