Live on Sky Sports 4: Thu 10:30 & 20:00 Angus Loughran previews this week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational and Investec Cup tournaments
Tiger Woods is a Bay Hill specialist having won six times there in his last ten visits here so his absence this time around with a back injury really opens up the event.
After heavy rain over the last 48 hours, the tournament looks set to be played in perfect conditions unlike last year when I esperienced a tornado at the course.
With that in mind, I fancy Graeme Mcdowell at 22/1. A runner-up twice here when he should have won, in 2005 and behind Tiger in 2012, he is happy at this venue and actually lives locally which means he can have a rare week at home.
Justin Rose (14/1) and Zach Johnson at 25/1 should give backers a good run for their money while Patrick Reed is a very tempting 35/1 to prove his Doral win was no fluke, lending weight to his declaration after that he is a top five player.
Of the bigger outsiders Kevin Na looks the value to me; he played well last week, has decent course form and looks over the odds at 45/1. Each-way backers can look to Stan James or Paddy Power, who offer six places.
Good luck
Angus Loughran
