Off the track since being beaten at odds of 1-8 in November, Alan King’s Carraig Mor (3:40) returns to action at Huntingdon on Thursday and the exciting six-year-old is fancied to land the Listed Sidney Banks Novices’ Hurdle, under Robert Thornton.
The Old Vic gelding looked a serious prospect when bolting up on his rules debut at Uttoxeter and can be forgiven his latest reversal, as he made a serious error three out.
Given plenty of time to recover (probably also to do with the quiet spell the stable endured during mid-season) the selection holds no Cheltenham entries, but will probably be considered for Aintree after this, though he is already viewed upon as a chaser in waiting.
