Live on Sky Sports 4: Thu 00:00 & 08:30 Angus Loughran previews the Emirates Australian Open & Alfred Dunhill Championship.
Adam Scott is a top price of 3/1 to win this weeks Australian Open at Royal Sydney this week, with Rory Mcllroy a 13/2 chance and Jason Day rated at 15/2 while the layers offer 25s and upwards on the rest.
Day won the individual event at last weeks World Cup Of Golf and along with Scott helped Australia to prevail outright so they’re in with a shout and indeed it is hard to look beyond the front three in the market, with Mcllroy arguably the better value of the trio.
Arron Baddeley meanwhile, is my idea of the best value of the bigger price players with 28/1 freely available.
Charl Schwartzel will be hard to beat in The Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek, where he came out on top last year, although as he posted a fourth-place finish last week his great chance is factured into the price of 100/30.
Robert Rock has shown he can beat the best when in contention, as he did at Abu Dhabi and at 80/1 he catches my eye in an open event.
Richard Sterne faces a lengthy lay off for hip surgery after next week’s Nedbank Challange but has the ability to bmount a serious challenge this week while Tom Lewis, who finished 22nd last time out, is once again available at a generous looking 66/1.
Good luck
Angus Loughran
