Live on Sky Sports 4: Thu 08:00 & 18:00 Angus Loughran previews the OHL Classic and World Tour Championship tournaments.
The European Golf Season ends this week with The DP World Tour Championship in Dubai and despite having a season to forget, both on and off the golf course, Rory Mcllroy is Stan James’s 7/1 market leader.
US Open champ Justin Rose is also around the top end of the market at a similar price but although both could easily win, they don’t necessarily represent real value despite finishing first and second here last season.
I like BetVictor’s 30/1 about Lee Westwood, who ran away with this event in 2009. He clearly loves the course and might be under less pressure this week than some of his main rivals.
The same can be said about Louis Oosthuizen the 2010 Open Champion who is returning from injury and available at a very tempting 50/1 (Paddy Power).
Nine players could end up winning the Race To Dubai and I expect it to be clinched by Henrik Stenson, though I wouldn’t be surprised to see Graeme McDowell push him all the way.
For the first time there is live Sky coverage of the OHL Classic from Mexico and this looks a minefield for punters, with little course form to go on. In a wide open event, Brian Gay at 33/1 with bet365 appeals while Swede Robert Karlsson looks over the odds at 80/1 via Betfred.
Good luck
Angus Loughran
