Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Wednesday; Claret Cloak in the Towcester 14.50. Compare odds and bet.
With Emma Lavelle in such good form (saddled a double on Uttoxeter on Sunday, including another chasing debutant, Le Bec) it seems the perfect time for the Andover based handler to unleash Claret Cloak (2:50) over the larger obstacles in the 2m novices’ chase at Towcester on Wednesday.
The six-year-old goes well fresh (won on debut and finished third in a warm handicap hurdle on his return last season) and relishes decent ground, as he showed when signing off his hurdling career with victory at Stratford in April, so conditions should be ideal.
It isn’t too often that I chose to bet at the Northamptonshire venue, but the son of Vinnie Roe is the class act on show this afternoon and Lavelle chose to introduce Highland Lodge over fences here 11 months ago.
Wednesday’s selection:
2:50 Towcester: Claret Cloak; 1/2 bet365
