Live on Sky Sports 1: Thu: 10:30 & 18:00 Angus Loughran previews the Italia Open & Tour Championship tournaments.
It is time for the really big money in Atlanta this week with Tiger Woods, Henrik Stenson, Adam Scott, Matt Kuchar and Zach Johnson all assured of 11.44 million dollars if they win on Sunday and any of the other 25 set to scoop the same depending on other scores.
Woods is favourite at 11/2 and it is hard to see him not contending while I like the price of Open champion Phil Mickleson at 18/1 and Luke Donald who has a great record here.
Donald produced a stellar final round on Monday in Chicago to qualify and has had four top five finishes here in his last handful of starts so he looks the bet in Atlanta this week at 20/1 with most bookies going 1/4 odds for the first four places.
After last week’s home triumph of Joost Luiten in Holland it is no surprise that it is Francesco Molinari and Matteo Manassero who head the market for this week’s Italian Open in Turin.
The only shock is that Manassero is a bigger price and I expect him to be in contention this week at 16/1.
Marcus Frazer could also go well at 40/1 while Brooks Koepka at 25/1 is my other each-way selection in a wide open contest.
Good luck
Angus Loughran
