Paul Ferguson has two Friday selections for us; Cailin Annamh in the Wexford 5.10 & Velox in the Haydock 9.15. Compare odds and bet.
A cracking day’s racing on Friday, with a couple of interesting runners at Sandown in the shape of French raider Mandour and Sir Michael Stoute’s Auld Alliance who looks ready for the step up in trip in the last.
But, Kieren Fallon provided us with a nice winner at Haydock yesterday and he can repeat the trick in the concluding contest at the Merseyside track tonight, aboard Velox (9:15).
A Leicester maiden winner last time, the Zamindar gelding looks sure to improve for the step up to 1m2f and, given the fact his maiden victory is working out well, he is taken to score off an opening mark of 83. Luca Cumani’s charge was a best price 3/1 with Bet365 last night.
Over in Ireland, there are a couple of noteworthy runners, one being Heaney in the second division of the beginners’ chase. He will relish the step up in trip, but the selection goes the way of Cailin Annamh (5:10) in the opening mares’ maiden hurdle.
Jessie Harrington’s five-year-old finished runner-up in the Listed bumper at Aintree in April and did little wrong on her hurdles debut at Down Royal a month later. She had a couple of subsequent winners behind her that day and makes plenty of appeal here.
