Roberto Martinez is 5/1 with Ladbrokes to land some silverware in his first season if, as expected, he takes over at Everton.
The Spaniard is set to sign on the dotted line after the Toffees agreed a compensation package with his former club Wigan and he’s 5/1 to do what his predecessor David Moyes couldn’t by bringing a cup to Goodison Park.
However, Ladbrokes make Moyes 4/5 to win more trophies than his replacement (10/1) in a match bet.
Ladbrokes also post evens against Everton beating neighbours Liverpoool and make the Blues 12/1 to complete a rare league double over their Merseyside rivals.
Elsewhere, Martinez is 1/4 (Ladbrokes) to last the season and the same firm make him 50/1 to surpass Moyes’s eleven years in charge at the club.
Meanwhile, where Wigan’s players are concerned, Ladbrokes have already cut Callum McManaman from 5/2 to 2/1 to join his former boss at Everton with James McCarthy and James McCarthur both 6/1 shots to be Everton players by the end of the transfer window.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes told Betrescue: “It’s been nearly 20 years since Everton got their hands on some silverware and we fancy Martinez to do the business and show he’s more than just a relegation specialist.”
