The British and Irish Lions are now 1/6 with Ladbrokes to win the series against Australia after their dramatic first Test win.
Warren Gatland’s side edged it 23-21 in Brisbane after Kurtley Beale slipped when taking a last-gasp penalty that would have handed victory to the hosts and the tourists’ lucky escape was bad news for the bookies who had taken plenty of cash at 8/15 on a Lions triumph.
The Wallabies are now 4/1 at Ladbrokes to turn things around to win the series and it’s 11/8 (from 5/2) via the same firm for the Lions to manage a 3-0 whitewash.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes told Betrescue: “We could have done with Beale staying on his feet. The Lions were backed like defeat was out of the question and whitewash backers must now be feeling confident.”
