Paul Ferguson has one selection for us on Friday; Leitrim Pass in the Chester 7.55. Compare odds and bet.
William Haggas continues in good form and the Newmarket trainer has a decent record at Chester, where he saddles two interesting runners this evening.
Recent Newbury winner Danat Al Atheer holds obvious strong claims in the fillies’ handicap under her penalty, but the race might not necessarily be run to suit, so the selection goes the way of stable-mate Leitrim Pass (7:55) who was selected here when only third 12 days ago.
The Raven’s Pass colt looked a nice prospect when winning at Musselburgh last October and he was an unlucky fourth (met all kinds of trouble in running) on his reappearance at Kempton in April.
Two months later, he returned to action at Doncaster when heavily supported for a mile handicap. The chestnut was surprisingly ridden along not long after halfway and he took a while to pick up. Once he did respond, he stayed on strongly, giving the distinct impression that the step up to this evening’s trip could bring about further improvement.
He remains on a mark of 75, from which he can surely land a nice prize, and he opened up 11/4 with Bet Victor on Thursday evening. Mark Johnston’s in-form Broughton is a likely threat dropping back in trip, as the Teofilo colt is sure to make this a true test.
Friday’s selection:
7:55 Chester Leitrim Pass
