Paul Ferguson has two selections from Worcester for us on Wednesday; Special Account in the 2.10; Handmaid at 3.10 plus Moth in the Naas 7.30 Compare odds and bet.
Having finished third in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket and fourth in the Epsom Oaks Moth (7:30) should return to winning ways in the Naas Oaks Trial on Wednesday evening.
Aidan O’Brien’s Galileo filly looks a class above on all known form and, assuming she is over her exertions in the Oaks, she ought to take all the beating in this Listed event.
Earlier in the day Worcester stages a decent jumps card and Special Account (2:10) looks worthy of each-way support in the opening novices’ chase.
A winner on this day 12 months ago at Newton Abbot, the eight-year-old followed up at this track and made his debut over fences here earlier this month. Runner-up over 2m4f (had Brassick back in third) he should improve for the step up in trip and he looks capable of going well in receipt of 7lb from market leader Deireadh Re.
Later on the card Handmaid (3:10) should land the first division of the mares’ bumper for the in-form Peter Bowen.
Second to a smart mare (winner at Cheltenham the time before) on debut at Bangor, the four-year-old is a well-bred daughter of King’s Theatre; her dam is an un-raced sister to Hand In Hand and from the family of the top-class pairing of Morley Street and Granville Again. Any improvement from debut would make her difficult to beat in this company.
Wednesday’s selections:
2:10 Worcester: Special Account; 11/2 888Sports
3:10 Worcester: Handmaid; 6/4 Skybet
7:30 Naas: Moth; 4/7 Stan James
