Stoke have drifted from 5/2 to 11/4 with Ladbrokes to be relegated following news that Mark Hughes is set to take over as manager.
The former Manchester United striker has been out of work since he parted company with QPR last November but Betrescue understands Hughes is about to be installed at the Britannia Stadium, where he’s 1/3 at Ladbrokes to last his entire first season at the helm.
Ladbrokes also offer 12/1 about the ex-Manchester City and Fulham boss taking the Potters into Europe by any means next term while it’s 20/1 for Hughes to land some silverware at the first attempt.
Alternatively, punters expecting the Welshman to be the first managerial casualty next season can back him at 8/1 in Ladbrokes’ ‘sack race’ betting.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes told Betrescue.com: “We’re happy to ease Stoke in the relegation betting ahead of Hughes’ appointment. Despite that we still anticipate him to be as popular in the sack race betting as he has been in the past.”
