Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Monday; Allowed in the Cartmel 2.30 and Fersah in the Leicester 5.10. Compare odds and bet.
Despite returning from a 151-day lay-off Allowed (2:30) is fancied to land the four-year-old novices’ hurdle at Cartmel on Bank Holiday Monday.
A thrice raced maiden in Ireland for John Oxx and Sheikh Mohammed, the Authorized gelding made his debut over hurdles at Kempton over Christmas, where he travelled really well for a long way and looked to hold every chance approaching two out.
He eventually faded as the smart Irish Saint pressed on and he eventually finished a tired third, with the heavy ground taking its toll, but he could be an altogether different proposition on today’s quicker surface.
This is John Ferguson’s first runner at the track and Allowed is taken to make the long journey worthwhile.
Down at Leicester William Haggas’ Fersah (5:10) can strike at the second time of asking in the extended 1m3f fillies’ maiden.
Still engaged in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot, the daughter of Dynaformer shaped really well on debut at Ascot earlier in the month and sets a fair standard, with the step up in trip likely to bring about further improvement.
Monday’s selections:
2:30 Cartmel: Allowed; 3/1 bet365
5:10 Leicester: Fersah; 1/1 bet365
