Live on Sky Sports 3, Thu: 12.00 & 20:00 Angus Loughran previews this week’s Byron Nelson and World Matchplay tournaments.
When it comes to Matchplay Ian Poulter is one man I want on my side and at 17/2 he is my selection with Betfred to win The World Matchplay in Bulgaria the biggest Golf event ever staged in that Country.
Brett Rumford is in the form of his life and is the pick of the outsiders and I find his price incredible at 33/1 (Skybet) considering he has won his last 2 events this looks way over the odds and looks a terrific each way bet at generous odds.
Jason Day heads the market at 12/1 (bet365) to win Byron Nelson Championship but I prefer the chances of 2000 Open Champion Louis Oosthuizen available at 24/1 with Unibet.
DA Points is already a winner this year and has good course form with a 3rd place finish here in 2009 and looks a decent price at 35/1; Paddy Power
This is an open event with outsiders often in contention don’t discount Rory Sabbatini at 150/1 at Stan James to play far better than those huge odds suggest.
Good luck
Angus Loughran
