Sat 15.00: Scunthorpe and Leyton Orient combine in a generous 9/2 double (BetVictor) on the final day of the League One season.
The big game in League One this weekend sees Brentford and Doncaster do battle for automatic promotion at Griffin Park. The Bees are Ladbrokes’ 21/20 favourites while Rovers are perhaps a touch overpriced at 16/5 with BetVictor and it’s 5/2 courtesy of Betfred to finish all square. However, it’s such a tough to call clash, with so much at stake, so we’re seeking value elsewhere.
The first place to look is at Glanford Park, where Scunthorpe need to beat Swindon to have any chance of avoiding relegation. The Robins, a 7/4 chance at Skybet, are currently in fifth and at any other point in the campaign, we’d probably be tipping them to claim the points.
However, they’re already guaranteed a play-off place and could rest one or two players with that post-season scrap in mind so the Iron appeal at 9/5 (BetVictor) to secure a vital win.
Oldham guaranteed their own safety by beating Crawley last weekend and subsequently looked like a team that had clocked off for the season as they went down 1-0 to Shrewsbury in midweek.
The Latics head to Leyton Orient for their final assignment and it’s hard to see them raising themselves to get a result against an O’s side whose home victory tally of 13 is bettered only by Brentford. The hosts are 19/20 at Coral to end the campaign on a high.
