Live on ESPN: Sat 17.15: Wigan are 20/23 (BetVictor) to beat Millwall in the FA Cup but the Lions could earn a draw (11/4, bwin).
As a Premier League outfit, albeit one in serious danger of becoming a Championship side next season, Wigan are made odds-on favourites at 20/23 by BetVictor as they prepare to take on Millwall in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
However, it’s hard to enthuse about such a short quote when the Latics haven’t impressed of late. Roberto Martinez’s charges were fortunate to nab a point at QPR last weekend despite playing much of the game against ten men and they also toiled against Norwich before that.
Moreover, from top to bottom the club are more concerned about surviving the drop and it would be no surprise if they were caught cold by the Lions in this one.
Admittedly, the Londoners lost in midweek but that came on the back of a decent unbeaten run and indeed Millwall can perhaps be forgiven for having half an eye on this clash as they went down to Sheffield Wednesday.
The Lions recent resilience at the back will stand them in good stead at Wembley too and although they’re perhaps a tough sell at 15/4 (Paddy Power) to win the match in normal time, bwin’s 11/4 for them to secure a draw isn’t without appeal.
It certainly looks set to be a low scoring affair featuring fewer than 2.5 goals (10/11, Coral) and with that in mind, bold punters might fancy BetVictor’s 7/1 for it to finish one-apiece.
Alternatively, those sensing a shock can back Millwall ‘draw-no-bet’ at 5/2 with Betfred and bet365 post 21/20 against the Lions avoiding defeat.
