Live on Skysports 2: Sat 17.20: A Sheff Wed draw at 12/5 (BetVictor) & a treble (6/1, Stan James) are this week’s Championship picks.
Sheffield Wednesday extended their unbeaten run in the league to seven matches, with a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace but bookies aren’t sure whether or not the Owls will make it eight games without defeat as they entertain Nottingham Forest in front of the television cameras; Coral quoting both teams at 8/5 and Stan James rating the visitors as 15/8 outsiders to inflict a first Championship defeat since New Year’s Day on Dave Jones’ men.
As bookmakers can’t decide, punters might be similarly perplexed so BetVictor’s 12/5 chalked against the stalemate is set to be popular and given Forest’s own recent improvement, that just about looks like the best match bet at Hillsborough where bet365 offer 9/1 for it to finish goalless and Skybet chalk 4/1 against scores being level at the end of each half.
After a dismal run Millwall got back to winning ways at an equally out-of-sorts Middlesbrough last time out but the Lions haven’t necessarily turned the corner and they’re taken to come up short at Leeds, whose strength at home makes them decent value at 6/5 (bet365).
With the goalless draw against Leicester setting a solid platform, Paul Ince can preside over his first victory as Blackpool boss as they entertain a Bristol City side with a wretched record on the road and at 8/11 via Betfred, the Seasiders are hard to ignore.
Defeat shouldn’t send the Robins to the foot of the Championship however, as rock bottom Peterborough look up against it as they visit Blackburn, Stan James’ worthy 9/10 favourites.
