Live on ITV: Sun 16.30: Man Utd, at 5/6 (Coral) should edge out Chelsea in the FA Cup and Javier Hernandez can help them on their way.
FA Cup holders Chelsea face an uphill struggle if they are to lift the trophy for the fifth time in seven years because the Blues were given arguably the toughest quarter final draw; a trip to Old Trafford to face Premier League leaders Manchester United.
The pairing was good news for the other remaining sides as it means that one of the big guns will fail to reach the semis and as Sir Alex Ferguson’s men enjoy home advantage in today’s showdown, they’re Coral’s 5/6 favourites to eliminate the defending champions at the first attempt to reach the last four.
The Blues are 7/2 with bet365 to keep their hopes of retaining the crown alive while BetVictor post 3/1 against the mouth-watering tie requiring a replay but United’s strength on their own patch should give them the edge and they can shade a tight encounter.
Only once in the last ten meetings between the two has one of the teams failed to score so Skybet’s 8/13 for both sides to find the net should be a safe bet statistically speaking and with that in mind, BetVictor’s 17/2 chalked against a 2-1 triumph for the hosts isn’t without appeal.
Javier Hernandez meanwhile, is the stand out bet at 5/1 in Stan James’s first scorer market, although eager punters could’ve backed the United striker at a chunkier 13/2 earlier in the week. The Mexican front man has been on target in each of his last three appearances against Chelsea, including twice this season, he has also bagged three goals in the last two rounds of the cup and has started every one of his side’s games in the competition thus far.
Recommended Bets:
Javier Hernandez to score first – 5/1 (Stan James)
