Live on ITV: Thurs 20.05: Spurs are 8/11 (Hills) to see off Inter in the Europa League and Gareth Bale can again give the Italians nightmares.
Tottenham’s double header against Inter Milan is arguably the tie of the round in the Europa League, especially for those recalling the two meetings between the pair in the Champions League in 2010.
Those matches racked up eleven goals in total, three of them coming from Gareth Bale on that memorable night in the San Siro but it’s unlikely to be as high scoring as the pair renew hostilities at White Hart Lane.
Spurs are fancied at 8/11 via William Hill, to qualify over the two legs but if they are to justify that favouritism then they’ll probably need to win this first match, a result rated by Betfred at 4/5.
Ladbrokes offer odds of 27/10 about a home triumph by a one-goal margin while it’s 17/2 with BetVictor for the hosts to card a 2-1 success, as they did against Lyon in the previous round.
Andre Villas-Boas however, has been fielding strong line-ups in the competition so we can expect to see Gareth Bale take to the pitch at some stage, even if it’s not from the start.
Given that the in-form Welsh attacker bagged an incredible treble against the Serie A outfit a couple of years ago, helped himself to a brace at home to Lyon and has now racked up ten goals in his last eight matches in all competitions, he’s a great bet at 5/4 (Stan James) to get on the scoresheet and he’s equally tempting at 9/2 courtesy of Hills to break the deadlock.
Recommended Bets:
Gareth Bale to score in a Spurs victory – 21/10 (Stan James)
