Live on BBC1 Scot: Tues 19.30: BetVictor’s 11/2 underdogs Scotland are up against it as they visit Serbia for their World Cup qualifier.
For the second time in the current qualifying campaign, Scotland relinquished a lead to suffer a morale-sapping 2-1 defeat to Wales and it’s difficult to see Gordon Strachan’s men bouncing back as they tackle Serbia in the Red Star Stadium.
Admittedly, the Serbs have managed to pick up only four points from their opening five fixtures but the Scots have just a couple of home draws to cling to as they prop up the rest in Group A.
One of their stalemates came against Serbia and Skybet chalk 3/1 against the pair sharing the spoils again while 888Sport offer 9/1 about another goalless encounter, however aided by home advantage Sinisa Mihajlovic’s charges should have the edge.
Hills rate them at 4/6 to heap more misery on the sorry Scots by securing a maximum haul, Ladbrokes price them at 7/5 to prevail ‘to nil’ and it’s 11/2 at BetVictor for a 1-0 home success, a wager lent appeal by both teams’ scoring struggles.
Also catching the eye is a match tally of fewer than three goals at 8/11 via Stan James and in fact it might even be worth taking a gamble on the contest yielding less than 1.5 goals at 11/5 (Boylesports).
