Paul Ferguson has two selections from Ayr for us on Tuesday; Tap Night in the 3.25 and Fine Rightly at 5.00. Compare odds and bet.
Though he finished last of four only 9 days ago Tap Night (3:25) is worth another chance at Ayr on Tuesday, when he can take the 2m5f novices’ chase for Lucinda Russell.
The six-year-old was a smart hurdler and made an immediate impact on his chase debut here last month. The step up trip should have brought about significant improvement at Musselburgh last week, but the race was a bit of a farce and a line should be put through the form.
A winner here over hurdles earlier in the campaign, he needs to be winning this if he is to head to the Festival with realistic claims and Tony McCoy’s mount opened up 8/11 with Paddy Power last night. David Pipe’s The Tracey Shuffle looks the most likely danger.
Stuart Crawford has a fine record with his bumper horses at the track and Fine Rightly (5:00) is taken to follow up his recent course success in the concluding contest.
The five-year-old did it really nicely and the runner-up ran an eye-catching race in better company (staying on late) at Newbury on Saturday. He has to shoulder a penalty here, but he looks a useful prospect and sets a fair standard.
Again, Pipe could saddle the danger and any money for his newcomer would be slightly worrying.
Tuesday’s selections:
3:25 Ayr: Tap Night; 10/11 Betvictor
5:00 Ayr: Fine Rightly: 11/8 Skybet
