The EBF National Hunt Novices’ Hurdle at Catterick on Friday looks a really good contest, with favourite Get Back In Line a real eye-catcher when runner-up to stable-mate Mr Watson on his racecourse debut at Plumpton.
With the winner boosting the form at Cheltenham on Saturday, he looks very much a player here in receipt of weight from his main market rivals, who are headed by dual winners Morning Royalty and Special Catch (3:20) with marginal preference, at the prices, for the latter.
Two from two in lesser company in testing ground over course-and-distance this season, Keith Reveley’s six-year-old races under his optimum conditions and arrives here on a roll.
The son of Catcher In The Rye also won his bumper here on soft ground and, while this represents a big step up in class, he is clearly somewhat of a track specialist. Available at 10/3 with Paddy Power this morning, he looks capable of putting up a bold show in his bid for the hat-trick.
