Manchester City are now 2/1 favourites with Coral to lift the FA Cup after the quarter final draw handed them a home tie against Barnsley.
Roberto Mancini’s men hammered Leeds 4-0 on Sunday to book their place in the last eight and with the draw relatively kind to them, bookies have reacted accordingly.
Neighbours Manchester United had yet to play their fifth round tie against Reading at the time of writing and face a potential Old Trafford clash with Chelsea, should the latter overcome Middlesbrough and as a result both teams have drifted in the betting.
The Premier League leaders are now 5/2 at Boylesports and the Blues are an 11/2 chance courtesy of bet365.
Everton must negotiate a replay with Oldham to earn a quarter final clash against Wigan at Goodison Park but the Toffees have nevertheless been clipped to 5/1 by Coral to go all the way and the Latics are next in the betting at 28/1 (BetVictor).
Elsewhere, Ladbrokes quote odds of 12/1 for the cup winner to be a team from outside of the top flight following the pairing of Millwall and Blackburn in the last eight
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes told Betrescue: “It may bring a tear to the eyes of the romantics but the odds suggest we could see an all Manchester final.”
He added: “Everton are one of our worst results. Providing they overcome Oldham it looks like their backers who are all on at bigger prices will get a run for their money.”
