Paul Ferguson has two selections for us on Tuesday; Nutin Fancy in the Chepstow 12.50 and Thunderstorm in the Leicester 3.45. Compare odds and bet.
Philip Hobbs looks set for a decent day on Tuesday and Nutin Fancy (12:50) is taken to get the ball rolling for the Somerset based handler in the opening maiden hurdle at Chepstow.
The seven-year-old hasn’t been seen since last Christmas, when he chased home the smart Ambion Wood here, having earlier finished third behind Knock A Hand and Ohio Gold, also at the Welsh track.
That form, which came on heavy ground, ought to be strong enough to land a race of this nature and, assuming he is wound up for this return, he sets a fair standard under Richard Johnson.
AP McCoy rides the trainer’s two runners at Leicester, with the pair being owned by JP McManus. The first is Irish Buccaneer, who looked useful when winning a Chepstow bumper in April, though he was a little disappointing when only third on his hurdles debut at Exeter recently.
In the last McCoy rides Thunderstorm (3:45) who is taken to defy a 5lb rise following a heavy ground success at Plumpton 22 days ago.
Prior to that the eight-year-old, who won a Huntingdon bumper back in December 2009, had been off the track for almost 22 months. Clearly difficult to train, the son of Milan is better than his current rating of 98 and, if he can back up that recent cosy success, he ought to be hard to beat in his bid to follow up. He was best price Evs with Paddy Power last night and now trading at 5/6 (Bet365) this morning.
Tuesday’s selections:
12:50 Chepstow Nutin Fancy
3:45 Leicester Thunderstorm
