Live on Sky Sports 1 & 3: Thu 06:00 & 20:00 Angus Loughran previews this week’s Desert Classic and Phoenix Open tournaments
Tiger Woods did me a big favour last week when winning for 8th time at Torrey Pines but finding a winner this week looks mighty tough although with Lee Westwood and Sergio Garcia excluded it is not as strong a field in Dubai as normal which may open the door for Paul Casey at 28/1 (Stan James) to return to winning ways. Casey has the class of that there I’d no doubt and he represents a terrific each way bet this week on a course which will suit his long game.
I was delighted Chris Wood won in Qatar and this will be the forst of many for the popular lad from Bristol who could easily figure again at the buisness end this week and is a generous looking 35/1 at betvictor
Henrik Stenson at 14/1 with Paddy Power is the other player to have on your side in Dubai this week.
In Phoenix where the crowds are huge and raucous I like Nick Watney at 18/1 (bet365) and Tim Clark at 35/1 (William Hill) while of the bigger price players 66/1 looks over the odds at Coral on Ryan Palmer but this event so often throws up a total shock winner and with bookies going 14/1 the field showing what a lottery it is
Good luck
