Sat 15.00: Burnley (evens, Betfred) and Charlton (5/4, Stan James) are the stand out bets in a reduced Championship programme.
In-form Burnley have started to mount a challenge for the play-offs on the back of a run of four league victories in five attempts and the Clarets can boost their hopes of finishing in the top six by picking up a fourth straight Championship victory at the expense of Birmingham.
Just two places above the drop zone, the Blues are winless in six across all competitions and that kind of form doesn’t bode well ahead of the trip to Turf Moor, where Betfred post a generous even money against a home win.
Shrewd punters meanwhile, will note that Sean Dyche’s troops have shored things up at the back, keeping clean sheets in all four of their recent successes and only conceding once in their forgivable loss to Leicester. A case can be made then for a Clarets win ‘to nil’ at 5/2 (Ladbrokes).
Also in decent shape at the moment are Charlton, who have won three Championship encounters on the spin and the Addicks look decent value at 5/4 via Stan James to see off Sheffield Wednesday at the Valley.
The struggling Owls are just outside the bottom three and have failed to score in five of their last six so Athletic, like Burnley, are not without appeal to also prevail ‘to nil’, an outcome Coral quote at 3/1.
