After a hugely promising debut over fences at Navan earlier this month You Must Know Me (12:35) is taken to go one better and land the opener at Punchestown on Monday.
The six-year-old gave the exciting Boston Bob a huge fright and looked a sure-fire future winner. The testing ground won’t be an issue and the step up in trip should also suit, having won over 3m on his sole starts over hurdles and also in a point.
Connections enjoyed a fine week last week, with Sizing Europe and Sizing Gold scoring at the Leopardstown Christmas Festival, and this son of Snurge can round the year off on a winning note for them.
The useful Vesper Bell is another who looks sure to win one of these sooner rather than later and Ipsos Du Berlais ran too badly to be true when pulled-up last time. If he can be forgiven that disappointing run, Noel Meade’s grey is another likely danger, though the selection arrives here at the top of his game and a reproduction of his debut run ought to be good enough.
