Paul Ferguson has one selections for us on Monday; Flaming Arrow in the 12:50 at Musselburgh. Compare odds and bet.
Having run well and to a decent level in three bumpers last term Flaming Arrow (12:50) looks capable of making up in to a useful novice hurdler this season and is worth siding with in the 2m maiden at Musselburgh this afternoon.
Kevin Ryan’s four-year-old finished runner-up to Up To Something (won his next three starts) in a junior bumper at Wetherby last December before finishing sixth behind The New One at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day.
The winner went on to win the Grade 2 at Aintree an is two from two over hurdles, while the selection came here for his final start and looked all over the winner when hitting the front inside the final quarter mile.
Eventually outstayed by Ifyousayso, the son of Sadler’s Wells could have developed physically over the summer (to see out his race more thoroughly) and this looks the ideal track for which to start his hurdles career. Again, the form of that race has been boosted by the winner, who joined Donald McCain and won again at Bangor before finishing fifth to the aforementioned The New One at Aintree. He has since made a winning debut over hurdles at Carlisle.
The selection could be available at an each-way price this morning, as this looks a fairly competitive affair.
