Tues 19.45: Brentford are 4/6 (Betfred) to ensure Bradford don’t repeat their League Cup heroics in the FA Cup and two other homes appeal.
At one stage last week, Bradford didn’t think that they would be heading to Brentford for their FA Cup replay, the Bantams having been expelled from the competition for fielding an ineligible player but Phil Parkinson’s men were reinstated after an appeal saw their punishment reduced and they now head to Griffin Park looking to book a third round clash at Southend.
City will be full of confidence going into the contest given their heroics in reaching the semi-final of the Capital One Cup but their FA Cup reprieve could prove to be shortlived given the form of the hosts.
The Bees have moved into second spot in League One, on the back of a run of seven wins and two draws in nine outings and they have been outstanding on their own patch this term. They should therefore justify the 4/6 favouritism afforded to them at Betfred by getting the better of their League Two opponents in normal time.
Despite plying their trade a division above Rotherham, Notts County could only draw at the Millers’ New York Stadium just over two weeks ago but the Magpies can finish the job at the second time of asking as the pair renew hostilities at Meadow Lane.
The League One play-off chasers are evens (Coral) to book their place in the third round in normal time and that’s a decent price given their home advantage.
In the other two clashes, Oxford, at 21/20 with BetVictor, should have too much for Accrington and William Hill rate Macclesfield at 11/8 to come out on top in the all-Conference fixture at Barrow.
