Live on Skysports 2: Sat 12.45: Hard to separate in their Premier League clash, Sunderland and West Brom are 12/5 (Betfred) to draw.
Sunderland finally got amongst the goals to pick up their second victory of the campaign last weekend, Martin O’Neill’s men finishing on the right side of a 3-1 scoreline at Fulham and after that impressive result, the Black Cats will be in confident mood ahead of the visit of West Brom.
The Baggies are also bouncing at the moment, Steve Clarke’s charges riding high in fourth spot but Sunderland are slight favourites for the points, BetVictor rating them at 6/4 to come out on top and Paddy Power pricing the visitors at 2/1.
However, this is a tough one to call; the Black Cats have done little to convince on their own patch so far this term while West Brom’s good work has largely been confined to the Hawthorns. It’s hard to make a case for either team then and the temptation is to plump for the draw, at 12/5 courtesy of Betfred.
Sunderland’s scoring struggles could prompt one or two punters to speculate on a goalless encounter at 11/1 (Skybet) but Albion have enough quality to ensure that’s not the case and O’Neill’s troops are looking more potent in attack so a better bet is William Hill’s 6/1 for it to finish one-each.
Alternatively, Ladbrokes post 9/2 against it being level at the end of each half and it’s 6/5 with bet365 for the visitors to break the deadlock, a pretty consistent trend in Baggies matches this season.
