Fresh from riding a treble at Thurles yesterday, Davy Russell is back over to ride for Nicky Richards at Musselbrugh this afternoon, after he rode a winner and a second from two rides for the Greystoke handler at Newcastle a fortnight ago.
The Irish champion again takes just two rides for the trainer, one coming in the concluding bumper and the other aboard course-and-distance winner Simply Ned (2:50) in the Dalhousie Bonnyrig 720 Handicap Hurdle.
The lightly raced five-year-old completed a hat-trick when scoring here last December and, though he has was well beaten when bidding to follow up here in February, he remains a horse of some potential and he shaped well on his recent return at Wetherby.
The return to an easier track on better ground will suit, as will the drop to this lesser company, despite the fact he has to shoulder top weight. The son of Fruits Of Love was trading at 2/1 with Bet365 overnight.
