First Mohican, Sir Henry Cecils progressive handicapper, heads the sponsors betting for the Betfred November Handicap on Saturday at 5/1.
The Unbeaten 4 year old Gelding, owned by Henry Ponsonby, has won all 3 of his races to date and is quoted at 5/1 ahead of the historic handicap which will bring the curtain down on an excellent flat season.
Last time out at Nottingham, First Mohican beat Art Scholar, who reopposes, by an easy 3 ½ lengths on only his third start and could be the proverbial group horse masquerading in a handicap.
“It would be a fitting way to end the flat season with a Sir Henry Cecil winner following Frankels exploits throughout the summer. First Mohican has won all of his three races impressivley, handles cut in the gound and looks a solid favourite.” Betfred spokesman Matthew Hulmes told betrescue.com
