Live on Skysports 1: Sun 16.00: Stan James’ 20/21 favourites Chelsea can record a Premier League victory over Liverpool but it won’t be easy.
Brendan Rodgers cut a frustrated figure on Sunday, after his Liverpool side shared the spoils for the fifth time in ten Premier League outings despite dominating possession against Newcastle. The result means the Reds have still picked up only two victories this term and they aren’t expected to improve on that record this weekend as they head to Stamford Bridge to face title-chasing Chelsea.
Stan James have installed the Blues as 20/21 favourites to send Rodgers’ troops home empty-handed and that’s perhaps understandable when you consider that the only match the hosts have failed to win on their own patch was that controversial clash against Manchester United.
Liverpool meanwhile, are a 3/1 shot at Skybet to pick up a much-needed three points in West London, where BetVictor quote another stalemate at 27/10 but it’s hard to see past Roberto Di Matteo’s charges, given their home record and the Reds’ inability to kill teams off. Nevertheless, the visitors are performing well enough to make life difficult for Chelsea, who are 3/1 courtesy of Ladbrokes to edge it by one and 8/1 (Stan James) to register a 2-1 success.
Blues front man Fernando Torres has yet to score against his former club in four attempts but he’ll still attract cash at 13/2 (BetVictor) to break the deadlock. Similarly, Liverpool’s Luis Suarez, a 7/1 chance at bet365, will be a popular first scorer choice although Stan James’ 9/4 for the controversial Uruguayan to notch at any stage is a better bet.
