Live on ESPN: Weds 19.30: Celtic, at 4/6 (Ladbrokes), should beat Hearts in the SPL in what looks set to be a low-scoring affair and St Johnstone can also win.
Theoretically, victories for the two Edinburgh teams would see one of them, Hibs, climb to the top of the SPL table but sadly for Pat Fenlon’s men, their neighbours Hearts don’t look set to keep up their side of the bargain by beating Celtic.
The Hoops are 4/6 courtesy of Ladbrokes to get the better of the Jambos and as Neil Lennon’s troops have convinced more on the road than on their own patch, they’re worthy favourites at Tynecastle.
Recent Hearts fixtures point to a low-scoring affair featuring fewer than 2.5 goals, an outcome Betfred chalk up at 5/6 and more specifically, it’s 6/1 at Totesport for Celtic to fire the only one, just as they did when the pair met at Parkhead in October.
Like their city rivals, Hibs too could be up against it as they head to St Johnstone. Fenlon’s charges have stalled a touch of late, suffering back-to-back defeats and the solid Saints can capitalise at McDiarmid Park, where Coral quote a home success at 5/4.
Recommended Bets:
Celtic to beat Hearts 1-0 – 6/1 (Totesport)
St Johnstone to beat Hibs – 5/4 (Coral)
