A stunning performance by Al Ferof in the Paddy Power Gold Cup saw the grey cut to 7/1 for the William Hill King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day
Sponsors William Hill cut the John Hales-owned chaser to 7-1 third-favourite behind 2010 winner, and 7-2 favourite Long Run. It could be a fifth win in sixth win in seven renewals for Champion handler Paul Nicholls – who may also saddle recent Charlie Hall winner Silviniaco Conti.
William Hill also installed Al Ferof as 7-1 second-favourite for the Ryanair Chase, and a 14-1 chance for an unlikelier tilt at the 3m2f Gold Cup. Grand Crus – hot favourite for this afternoon’s race was eased to 12-1 from 9-2 for the King George, and to 12-1 from 8-1 for the Ryanair
Kate Miller, spokeswoman for William Hill told betrescue.com, said: ‘’Al Ferof’s win today has set-up one of the most open, and fascinating King George fields for many a year with Long Run, Finian’s Rainbow, Riverside Theatre, and Paul Nicholls’s duo just a few in with strong chances. All roads lead to Kempton.’’
