Live on ITV1: Wed 16:00: England are even money with Ladbrokes to get the better of Poland in the pair’s World Cup qualifier.
Without really convincing, England notched five times without reply against minnows San Marino at Wembley on Friday but they can expect a much sterner test as they head to Warsaw to face Poland.
Roy Hodgson’s men are nevertheless, Ladbrokes even money favourites to rack up another victory and tighten their grip on top spot in Group H, with Poland a 7/2 chance at BetVictor and a draw on offer at 12/5 with bet365.
There’s some appeal about the latter, especially after the Three Lions shared the spoils with Ukraine just over a month ago and indeed a close encounter looks inevitable in the Polish capital, where there should be little between the sides in the early stages.
Eventually however, England should be able to get their noses in front so case can be made for the 9/2 Stan James post against an away win on the back of a drawn first half. Willliam Hill’s 11/2 for Hodgson’s charges to grab the game’s only goal also stands out while Skybet price the contest at a safe-looking 13/8 to be scoreless at the interval.
Elsewhere, Stan James’ 8/11 for a match tally of fewer than 2.5 goals is a banker and after his brace against San Marino took him to fifth in England’s all time leading scorer list, Wayne Rooney is the pick of the bunch at 5/1 (BetVictor) to break the deadlock.
