Leinster may be Ladbrokes 7/2 favourites to retain the Heineken Cup for the third season running but Saracens are proving ever popular at the high street giants
Despite being among the outsiders at 16/1 it’s Sarries who are attracting the larger bets of the Heineken Cup with one London punter staking £27,000 (at 13/8) on the English team to top Pool 1, which has consequently been cut to 6/4, seeing them share favouritism with Munster (6/4) to finish first.
Leinster may be the 7/2 favourites to retain the trophy for the third season running, however it’s the outsiders at bigger prices which are proving popular with punters, such as Ulster (16/1), Northampton (22/1), Scarlets (50/1) and Exeter at a whopping 500/1.
Money boys Toulon look serious contenders at 6/1 in the market with a relatively easy group along with coming into the Cup flying high in the Top 14.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes told betrescue.com: “Leinster have been untouchable in the Cup for the last three years and although we see that continuing this year they face a big threat from Toulon. The pressure’s on the French team to deliver the goods and take home the Heineken Cup for the first time.”
