Runaway Flat Jockeys Championship leader Richard Hughes is the 8/11 favourite at William Hill to scoop the award in 2013 as well.
Hughes moved closer to this year’s prize with a remarkable seven-timer from his eight rides at Windsor, hitting Hills for £100,000 in the process and the Leeds-based firm believe he will carry his outstanding form across to next season.
Meanwhile, Hughes could also be set for success with his autobiography, which has been included in the longlist for the 2012 William Hill Sports Book of the Year Award.
Hills spokesman, Richard Thomas told Betrescue, “Richard Hughes fully deserves all the accolades this season for his achievements on the track. He has long been considered the best jockey of his generation not to win the title, and that issue has been solved.”
“With the firepower from Richard Hannon unlikely to diminish in 2013,” he added, “Richard is a deserved favourite for the 2013 championship. He could also prove a winner in the literary stakes with his autobiography!.”
