The firm’s Rory Jiwani told betrescue.com, “We were as big as 1/3 at one stage but after his old rival Excelebration cruised to victory, we thought the price would collapse and it did. Frankel opened up at 1/5 on course and went off at 2/11. There was a scare as he missed the start but he moved smoothly to the front and just had too much for Cirrus Des Aigles although Tom Queally actually had to work in the closing stages.
“The wonderhorse has cost us bundles again but it’s easy to make an exception in this case. It will be a very long time before we see a horse as good as Frankel again, and what he’s done for the sport cannot be underestimated. It was a privilege to be here at Ascot to see his final race and I wasn’t alone in struggling to hold back the tears as Queally took him down to the furlong pole where hundreds of fans sprinted to the rail to get close to the world’s greatest racehorse.
