BetVictor are refunding bets placed on Jessica Ennis to win the 100m Hurdles after she pulled out of the event after her Heptathlon win.
BetVictor spokesperson Charlie McCann: “Last night was a black day for the books as Ennis, Mo Farah and to a lesser extent Greg Rutherford were poor results but it was still the greatest night of athletics that anyone will ever see; Ennis did attract support for the 100m Hurdles after her sensational run on Friday morning but it would be churlish to keep the money on an athlete who is now a national institution. If Farah wins the 5000 it will be a disaster having offered 11/2 for the double but we are still keen to take him on and bet top price 6/4 for what would be the icing on the cake for Team GB athletics.”
