Ladbrokes make Spain 5/1 to win the World Cup in 2014 (in from 6/1) after they cruised to victory in the Euro2012 final against Italy.
£62 a second was bet in-play on the Euro final as punters wanted in on the action.
In the early 2016 market, Spain are 7/2 to yet again retain the trophy while it’s 22/1 for the World Cup and Euro double.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “It’s not very often we cheer on Spain but tonight they’ve saved us an absolute fortune as punters piled in left, right and centre to the Italians.”
She added: “We’ll be toasting Spain’s success with a glass of Sangria tonight.”
