Jol 10/1 In Premier Sack Race

With all 20 managers in place in the Premier League, Nigel Adkins is 5/2 to be sacked first with Stan James and Martin Jol is 4th fav at 10/1.

Steve Clarke is considered to be a 5/1 second favourite after his move to West Brom. “We feel there are five managers who look vulnerable for varying reasons.” Stanjames.com football spokesman Dave Jenkins told Betrescue.com.

“Adkins is the favourite, as there are strong rumours of a strained relationship between him and his chairman, a man who is known to be very ambitious and would like a big name manager at the club. Any mishaps from Adkins early on and he could well go. Steve Clarke looks a disaster waiting to happen, and then Jol, Allardyce and Di Matteo all look a little vulnerable, if things start badly. We think the other newbies, Rodgers, Lambert, Laudrup, AVB & Hughton will all get enough time to prove their worth, and others should easily go before them. Fergie, Wenger, Moyes, O’Neill, Pardew, Pulis, Hughes & Mancini all look very safe, and you have to feel that McDermott will be given plenty of time as well. That leaves Martinez, and he will probably only go if another Premier League club comes in for him…..in which case he won’t be first.”

Stan James also have a market on which of the six London managers will be the first to leave this season; Sam Allardyce and Martin Jol are the 11/4 joint favourites to go first, although all six surviving is not far away at 3/1.
