Live on BBC2: Sun 13.00: Fernando Alonso has been cut to 5-2 (from 13-2) to win the British Grand Prix by Coral after taking pole
The Ferrari driver turned back the clock to take his first pole slot in two years and is now the bookies favourite to win his third British Grand Prix.
Second and third on the grid on Sunday will be Red Bull’s Mark Webber (9/2 Stan James) and Michael Schumacher of Mercedes who can be backed at 10s with Paddy Power.
Sebastian Vettel is Boylesports 4/1 second favourite,
It wasn’t a good day for the British drivers. Lewis Hamilton is a best price 12/1 at Ladbrokes, Jenson Button is a 33/1 shot at Bet365 and Paul Di Resta 100/1 at BetVictor.
“A bad day in the rain today saw a lot of changes in the betting, but it was Alonso who coped best in the conditions, and with more wet weather forecast tomorrow, it could be back to back British wins for the Spaniard,” Coral spokesman Gary Burton told betrescue.com
