Live on Skysports 1 & 3: Wed 10.00 & Thu 20.00: Angus Loughran previews this week’s Austrian Open and Canadian Open. Selections.
Adam Scott is 33/1 with Ladbrokes to bounce back after his Open shocker and is worth taking a chance with at those odds while Ernie Els, who snatched his 2nd Open Title, is 40/1 (bet365) for Kiawah Island Glory in the PGA Championship in two weeks time.
This week, I fancy Roger Chapman at 25/1 with Paddy Power to continue his amazing run in the Senior Open at Turnberry and such is his status in the game, he is paired with previous Turnberry Open Champions Tom Watson and Greg Norman in the first two round. Mark Calcavecchia (12/1, Skybet) and Corey Pavin (20/1, Boylesports) are my other two picks here.
The Austrian Open starts on Wednesday and Tommy Fleetwood at 150/1 (bet365) is over the odds here. Jose Manuel Lara won here in 2010 and also looks great each way value at 66/1 with Betfred while Chris Wood at 25/1 via BetVictor will never get a better chance than this to gain a first win.
Open Champion Ernie Els heads to the Canadian Open where Brandt Snedeker has a big chance at 28/1 (Stan James) following a decent showing at Lytham. Matt Kuchar is 12/1 market leader here with Ladbrokes while 2011 Masters Champion Charl Schwartzel is also value at 33/1 (Skybet).
Good luck
Angus Loughran
