Live on BoxNation: Sat 21.00: David Haye takes on Dereck Chisora in a grudge match and the Hayemaker is 2/1 (Skybet) for victory on points.
Neither David Haye nor Dereck Chisora holds a British boxing licence yet they will face off at West Ham’s Upton Park Stadium in a bout farcically sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Board of Control.
The fight is something of a circus with the two protagonists having plenty of scores to settle following their brawl in the press conference in the wake of Chisora’s loss to Vitali Klitschko in Munich. Predictably then, the trash talk has been plentiful but once the action actually gets under way it’s the ‘Hayemaker’ that is expected to let his hands do the talking, bet365 installing the previously retired Londoner as an emphatic 4/11 favourite.
Chisora, whose licence was withdrawn as a result of his conduct both before and after his clash with Klitschko, is an 11/4 chance at Stan James but the controversial 28-year-old has lost three of his last four fights and he probably lacks the quality and mobility to get the better of his more experienced opponent.
Haye has managed an impressive 23 stoppages across 25 victories and that could encourage punters to back the Bermondsey fighter at 11/8 (BetVictor) to prevail inside the distance. However, ‘Del Boy’ has never been knocked out and took Vitali Klitschko all the way to the judge’s scorecards so Skybet’s 2/1 for the ‘Hayemaker’ to clinch victory on points is arguably the best bet in East London.
