Aidan O’Brien-trained Cristoforo Colombo is now 7/2 fav (in from 6/1) with Coral in next week’s Coventry Stakes after a sustained gamble.
“Cristoforo Colombo won his maiden at Navan nicely enough last month, but the money we’ve seen for the colt suggests the required step up in class next week will be well within his grasp,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
Coral have also confirmed that any ante-post bets on the Coral-Eclipse will be settled without Frankel should the unbeaten star target the Sandown Group One next month after all.
“We have priced up the race on the understanding that Frankel won’t be taking part, but with the owner’s racing manager, Teddy Grimthorpe, saying Sandown is not out of the possible programme, any ante-post bets struck would be settled without Frankel,” confirmed Coral’s David Stevens.
